it's me.. i should be sleeping, but then i also wanna watch the Oscars....
But then i really should be sleeping, cuz i believe i will be pretty busy tomorrow, cuz stupid reservations didn't do their work, so i cannot do my work, which also means that i have to do double work tomorrow.... See lah... how can ppl do things like that????
I spelled my name as Kng Siam juz now.... WTF? Can't even spell my name properly??
am quite zonked out actually. Tired... wanna go shower and sleep. Something on TV now called "What the world think about God". Some worldwide discussion forum or something like that.
I'm actually not listening... am actually my two favourite websites, airlinemeals.net and airliners.net, looking at my aeroplanes and airplane food.... i believe i am seriously quite screwed up to keep on looking at things like that. Torture, really, cuz i wanna take aeroplane... but am not likely to do so in the next few months or so...
Obsessive Compulsive Behaviour...
Daytime television...
9am- Looney Tunes
11.30am - Asterix...
I shouldn't be watching this... need to iron clothes and get ready for work, which starts in 3 hours time.
I finished 3 books in the space of one week... which is not an amazing record by my standards... but not too bad, considering that i am working 40 hours a week.... Elegance, Fen and Playing James.... My favourite out of this 3 has to be Fen... one of the sweetest ending ever.... not unlike that of its predessesors (sp? I think the spelling is wrong... but not sure what is the correct one).
You know very well how i am one of the greatest fans of my favourite airline, which duh, would of course be Singapore Airlines, and i always think SIA is the best in almost everything, be in service, cabin services, food, entertainment, etc.
But today, i am being wowed by another airline, not won over yet, but very impressed by what they have to offer in their new planes, the A340-500s (which, btw is the same aircraft as what SIA uses to fly non-stop 16 hours to Los Angeles). The other airline, i am talking about, is Emirates, which is my 2nd favourite airline, an airline which i hold in great respect.
And so what is the wow factor? Their first class cabins. which actually comes with actual full height screens which closes around the enitre seat, hence forming an enslosed suite. There's also a DND(Do not Dsiturb) sign, which eluminates when you do not wish to be disturbed. And the topping factor? The in seat mini bar, which i'm sure is going to be free, unlike hotels. I think this is as close as you can get to a hotel in the sky, no? Me thinks this might be a first class cabin that tops that of SIA's.
Take a sneak peak.
Today is Valentine's Day... and being the soppy one that i am... i was wishing everyone Happy Valentine's Day, be it guest, colleague or manager... and it was really fun, especially when it's a young couple whom you know are here for a secret weekend away... or maybe not... anyway... it was really cool and guests always feel a little surprised about being wished happy valentine's day from a hotel with a long conventional tradition. Think the royal family.... Queen E time, " The Mayfair hotel has been associated with the royal family since it's opening in 1916..." come to think about it, does Queen E celebrate V day?
But i would advise against organising a rendezvous in any hotel on V-day... cuz hotels always overbook to ensure maximum occupancy and if you check in early you might not get your room straight away, cuz the hotel had been busy the night before... try the week earlier or the week later.... and you might be booked out into another hotel if the hotel has overbooked... only good thing is there might be a higher chance of an upgrade...
Happy Valentine's Day everyone....
And february is like such a wonderful month, you know??? It can be quite cold, but then, it's when you see the transition between winter and spring, when the night sets in much later.... at 5 plus instead of 4.... when the air is not that chiller... but not that hot that you feel stuffy.. It's when you know spring is nearly here and winter is nearly over. And you wait for the time when you can put your large winter jacket into storage for the next 6 months...
I wish spring would come soon.
i got my modem!!!!!!!! Yeah... so now got broadband at home!!!! Yeah!!
I also registered with Westminster libaray last week and managed to borrow 5 books... the limit is 15 books, how cool is that... and all the books are also very new and recent... reminds me of libaray@orchard, only the deco is more dated and selection is smaller... they also have a Quick Choice selection which features all the newest books, most of which are bestsellers and are available for one week loans with no renewals and reservations, which i thought was very cool as it allows more pppl access to the books. =)
I just finished one the Quickchoice books i borrowed... and it was pretty good... it's called Elegence by Kathleen Tessaro... it's about this woman with a sad life and failing marriage, who picked up this book called "a guide to elegence" and followed it like a bible and how her life has transformed... and the consequences.... that's the gist of it... i dun think i do the book justice with this short description, but you really should pick it up... even KT wants to read it... which says a lot about a book, when a guy wants to read it....
I got my Valentine's Day pressie on Sunday... I thought it was only a small teddy bear, until KT took out this Taka bag which holds something long and looks suspiciously like a watch case.... which was what it was anyway.... really really nice watch, with a rectangular watch face, juz what i've aways wanted =).................
i'm not supposed to work today, but then Janice, my front office coordinator called juz now to ask me to work today from 5 - 10pm. The bonus? I won't need to work tomorrow... One free off day... and i work 5 hours today instead of 8 hours tomorrow.... who wouldn't agree? Good thing i dun have anything planned tonight....
Waiting waiting waiting for my results.....
Work hasn't been so bad... this is the first weekend that i'm working... and you can tell that the guests are of a different 'genre' or 'category'. I juz can't quite get the right word to use... anyway... in the week, u see all the business people, all proper, all smart, but in the weekend... young couples, families, I'm not sure which crowd i like moew actually...
ooh... i found a new website to add to my aeroplane obsession!!! It's called airliners.net and basically, it's pictures of all the different types of planes in different places, different focuses and different closeups, take offs, landing, taxiing, in flight.... and all the pictures are so pretty.... Really really beautiful.... i wish i could take pictures like those...
