And in other news... In Other BIG News, I am coming back in less than a month!!! Yes, you've heard me right, I am coming back on the 22nd, arriving on the 23rd and returning on the 3rd May!!!! I know it's not that good a time, but it's the best i could do. =)
And funnily enough, when i return on the 23rd morning, my sister would be flying off at night to Tasmania, and when return on the 2nd, while i fly off on the 3rd morning. I was actually supposed to fly odd on the 2nd morning, but i can't get any tickets on that day, so oh well.
I am hooked!!! Hooked! and Hooked!!! Over a much talked about new show,
The O.C... So damn bloody cool!!! I've juz watched one episode and I am hooked...
And i am doing something which i do when i get hooked onto a show... i am reading the episode guides... bad bad girl....
You know that I am not a person that checks my handphone regularly... so guess what today? I went to work early, thinking that i have a complaints handling course, which starts at 9am... even though my normal shift doesn't start till 3pm. So i went to work, and when i reached the back office (of the reception), everyone was so surprised to see me. Including my shiftleader. Then she asked me, "Did you not receive my message?" I was like, "Dun tell me the training is cancelled again." She nods her head, and i am like, ARGH!!!! WHy din i check my phone!!! THe message was sent last night.
And so now i am back home, and resting, sort of. Watching TV now. And starting work in 3pm. See how stupid i am?? See lah, dun check phone, and hence missing out on 4 more hours of sleep...
I feel stupid.
I feel like going swimming... I want to go swimming under the hot sun...
Ever since the Madrid bombing, police presence everywhere has juz increased by like god knows how many percent. Everywhere i go, i see police officers... Police on bikes, in the buses, on bicycles, in cars, in the tube.... they are juz... EVERYWHERE. And the number of times i have heard the police siren today... UNCOUNTABLE... I'm serious, i have heard it so so so many times today and that is juz today. Then the fire alarm in Borders went off, so we had to evacuate the building... Those Civil Defence People sure are busy.
In other news, i have dropped something today and broke it. It was like such
a feeling of deja vu from the last time i dropped my watch on Chinese New Years New (21st Jan). THis time i dropped something that is more of a necessity than an accessory. I dropped my glasses. Because i was wearing my contacts today, so i had my glasses in a pouch in the bag. When i took out my wallet, i dropped the pouch unconsiously and then went on to step on it. There you go, it's gone. I am so damn bloody pissed, in the angry way, because i'm so careless!!!! And i love this pair of specs so much!!!!!!! Argh, now i have to wear contacts to work, which means i have to wake up slightly earlier, and i have to get the old specs fixed... and this is going to cost money blah blah blah... At first i thought it was the lenses, but then the injury was worse than first dignosed... sigh.
Off tomorrow and wednesday... today was a retty interesting day... for one, i had my front office manager shadowing me today, learning all the stuff that i do... because he is new and does not really know the entire running of our front office, so we had to show him everything that is going on, teach him the ropes where everything is, blah blah blah... so that was pretty cool. He was trained in hotel school as well, so i got to talk to him a little about his job, what he did previously as FnB manager (He was our FnB manager previously before moving over to F/O with no experience in the dept).
It's only 7.30pm, but i am already very tired and ready to sleep. Guess what happened this morning... for some reason, i have forgotten how to read the time on the clock and set my alarm one hour ahead of the acutal time that i am supposed to wake up, so i woke up with a WTF moment. Why the hell did i set my alarm at 4.30am and not 5.30am...
We have The Corrs' manager in our hotel this week... only him, not the corrs itself, cuz they stay in Mandarin Oriental... Their loss then...
I am so damn bloody tired.
I am looking at aeroplanes again... which is not surprising... But then i love spotting really incredible photos, like i found this photos of an
overview of Heathrow... Which is so cool, trying to figure out which one is Terminal 1, 2 ,3, and 4.
You know Air New Zealand has a
Lord of the Rings livery yeah? It's pretty cool... what i like about it is the words "Airline to Middle Earth".
I can't believe it is March and it is still going to snow in the next few days... what really is the problem with the weather here!!!! It's March!!! It should be all bright and sunny, not cold and wintery!!! What the hell is wrong with the weather? I am so tired with this cold and stupid and neither here nor there weather!!! ARGH!
I am not sure why i am getting so upset with the weather, but really, i am tired of the cold. i want spring to come soon.
Singapore have come up with a new slogan to attract tourists to SIngapore. Uniquely Singapore. What do you think of it? I thought it was okay... i'm sure i will see the adverts here... will not comment too much until i see it personally. How bout you? What d'ya think?
Lunch today = 1 can of Tesco Value tuna chunks in brine, 1 can of Green Giant sweetcorn niblets, and a slice of bread.
Conditions of today's lunch: Eat in any way you like as long as there is no chewing of sweetcorn...
Small little experiment between me and KT. We're juz trying to find out how long food takes to pass through our body from ingestion to excretion. Quite fun actually, but then how do you actually swallow sweetcorn without chewing it? Not easy, it feels like eating pills or something...

Something really interesting happened yesterday... Guess what my boss, my night manager told me yesterday.
Him: You know what your problem is, KS?
Me: Erm... no. I'm too nice?
Him: Your problem is, you're too efficient, and I find it difficult to keep up with your pace.
Erm... I was dumbfounded. My problem is I am too efficient? Is there actually such a thing as being too effiecient? If there is, i think it only exists in UK, where the pace of work is pretty slow and no one is used to my efficiency. I'm quite sure that there is no such thing as being too efficient in Singapore, no?
My stupid hot water heater has decided to break down for today. Which means i have to shower at the hotel, which i dun really like. The only good thing is the big towels provided by the hotel.
Am typing this at the hotel. Everytime at the hotel, i Think about things that i wanna write for the blog. And when i finally remember that i wanna write things for the blog when i reach home, i tend to forget the contents of the things that i wanna write about.
I have used one of the SIA photos as my desktop background.... Another testament to my ever present obsession with the national airline...
Sometimes i wish my flatmate would not keep on thinking that things are spolit.... i wish she would juz be more patient... And don't treat me like a little girl, i have a mother at home, i don't want to stay in London to have another mother taking care of me, doing things for me here and there...

I was pretty surprised. But. Where is this "prominent plot"? As far as i know, Guildford is pretty built up, there is no free plot of land near the town centre. And when i think near, i always think walking distance, cuz Guildford is that small. You dun want to be taking a bus since they are not that frequent.
That said, I think this is a pretty good investment. Because there is only 1 big hotel in Guildford and that is Holiday Inn and it is a really crap Holiday Inn, pretty notorious. So if Radisson Edwardian can better that, it would be quite good. And i always think Guildford is in the outskirts of London, cuz it is. It is juz outside the M25.
In other news... i am off today. And tomorrow... i should be looking to apply for my national insurance number... but social security ppl are giving me numbers to call here and there and most of them doesn't work... and this pisses me off.
Do you know who is
Michel Thomas? He is a linguist, and knows 20something languages and is 90 years old and an author. That's all i knew about him in the 31 days he spent at our hotel. Until today when i googled his name, then found out that he has this whole set of language books. That's the kind of books he writes... Ahh... now i know... Apparently he is really really good... if you read the reviews on amazon.com. I've just read
the short biography on barnes&nobles.com and i am so so so amazed by this person. A war hero, a undercover resistance fighter. He is amazing. And he is a gentleman, friendly, nice to talk to. I am looking forward to welcoming him back when he returns in May. =)
