i need to go out... I need to go to the hotel to get my keys which i have left behind at my locker... but i can't do that now... cuz i am stuck at home watching friends... because they are showing friends, every episode of it... until the grand finale which starts at 9pm. I need to go out to get stuff, but i am addicted by whatever that is going on on TV... God help me!
I've been collecting information for my professional training report... and 1 of the things i aim to do is to get as much information about competing hotels as possible... so these past few days I've gone to other hotels, namely
- The Landmark, Marylebone
- Softitel, St. James London
- Langham Hilton
All 3 are wonderful hotels... especially
The Landmark, it reminds me of the Fullerton with the skyline courtyard... Fantastic service the moment you step in... then you walk up this grand staircase to a bright giant atrium with a beautifulskyline, which on a sunny day juz makes the whole courtyard fantastically bright. except that the name of the restaurant at the courtyard/atrium is Winter Garden... which to me is quite a cold name... Owner of this hotel is a Thai.
Langham Hilton, which as of today is no longer a Hilton... is a very different hotel... Grand entrance... tucked away in a quiet corner juz off Oxford Street. I visited one room in that hotel, which is of a so so size... but nice marble bathroom anf free complimentary biscuits. The thing that sets it apart from the rest of the hotel? The swimming pool... which is more of a lap pool.. but Wow... nice.
Sofitel St. James... is modern with a captial M. Entrance is not big... but when you walk in... It's like Wow... this is WAY so different from the rest of the hotels... Double Height Ceilings... empty space, which doesn't feel empty, Very modern looking Reception table... Rooms with a black and white theme, but doesn't feel cold at all...
My favourite? A tie between the traditional and the modern... I really like the Landmark for the atrium... but I also like Sofitel for its sleek modern look...
I juz found a new shop where the clothes are cheap and fantastic looking... It's not really a new shop actually, it's actually the kids section of Zara. yeah. you heard it right... I juz happened to wonder into the Zara kids section and found things that i actually quite like, and even better... in my size... no doubt the largest kids size, but still fits me none the less. And the best part? Clothes that i can wear, in kids prices... Ended up buying 2 tops for GBP13, which to me, is quite a bargain...

I walked home again today from Green Park to Pimlico... It was a really good walk, the weather was so good that I actually feel cold from the aircon when I walked into Sainbury's, not the other way round, which has been the case the whole of this year...
i am sick, came down with flu over the weekend... juz can't stop blowing my nose...
I found another website to add to my airline collection... It's
www.uniformfreak.com, a personal website by a KLM steward who owns more than 230 stewardess uniforms, including the 3 main SIA uniforms (blue, green, red). His collection is vast. I am amazed. I don't feel so alone in my airline obsession anymore... there is always someone worse than me. ;)

I've decided, one of my favourite landing approaches have the one to Heathrow. One of the best views... when the plane finally clears the clouds... all you see are the landmarks of London. I was so excited at being able to see Hyde Park, Kensington, Regent's, Green Parks, BUckingham Palace. Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Canary Wharf, Millennium Dome. Chelsea and Fulham Football Stadiums, Batterea Power Station, Kew Gardens. Best of all, I even managed to see my own house!!! How cool is that... got a photo. Will put a photo up soon.
I definitely recommend this as one of the MUST-see in London!!!

New Look New Look.... Need to put in a title somewhere...
KNN.... something I should not be saying... but i am pretty pissed right now... so allow me... guess what? My computer has kenna computer virus/worm/bug again... so while i can start XP, i cannot do anything else, except to shut it down... which makes it pretty useless... Was thinking about juz installing everything again... but i did not back up hard drive, which means i would lose all my pictures/coursework (Argh...all the hard work!)/movies etc etc etc.....
I trying to figure out the things in my laptop that are highly important to me now... before i actually reformat anything on my laptop... So far.... other than the pictures which i groaned and groaned about to my mum, there is a grand total of 4 important files which I need.... and right now i am juz hoping that I can find them on my school server. Wish me luck.
Hi, I'm sorry I've been away for so long, so long that my tag board doesn't work anymore... Loads of things happened in the one month that I've been away...
Nicoll Highway collapsed. My brother-in-law works on that site. He was lucky in that he was on holiday on that day, hence he wasn't at the site. Furthermore, he has resigned, hence didn't have to cancel his holiday to Tasmania. The selfish alterego in me told me that if he had not resigned, he would not be able to go for holiday while I am in Singapore because of the accident, but then again, it's his holiday, as much as it was mine. All i could think was lucky lucky blessed Michael. He could have been in deep shit.
I went back to Singapore and then came back. I have said it many times to anyone who would listen to me. THe flight back home to Singapore was so good.... I had an entire row of seats to myself, so can rest my legs on the seat.... put my stuff everywhere... the flight back was okay, a bit bumpy though... got an emergency exit seat by the window, so got to indulge in my phototaking from aeroplanes AND stretch my legs, and I even met my friend's sister on the flight - she was the stewardess serving my section. =)
I finally got my new uniform on my first day back from holiday. We have been told that the new uniforms would come in the middle of January, and now, in May, I have finally received it. But it now seems like everyone wears the same uniform, from the managers to the supervisors to the line staff such as the porters. Can't tell them apart anymore if you are a guest at the hotel.
And then guesss what? I juz realised that I have 2 more off days for this week, which means that I could have chose to come back on Wednesday instead of Monday, which also means 2 more days in Singapore. And i know that I can get seats on Wednesday, because the flights were not full. Felt really down when i realised that. And so now i have Friday and Saturday off, when I could have Tuesday and Wednesday off.
You can see that I've gotten a new blog skin.... Still trying to play around with it.... Not my favourite blog, but it will do for now.
