This looks so classy yeah? Like some First Class lounge yeah? It's actually 2nd class in a Inter-City Express train en-route from Berlin to Hamburg... Can i tell u i really like germany?
I got an email from Sun Weiling today... Remember her? Kind of weird... u know that funny feeling when someone juz suddenly writes? Yeah, that kind of feeling...
Hwei, she asks if i still keep in contact with you...
Memories.. Blast from the past
(1) I am blogging now from my room!! I have broadband in my room!!! Cool!!!
(2) I received my boots yesterday... can i say i just LOVE them.... they are so pretty, somemore real leather, all for the bargain price of GBP16.55 including postage and packaging!!! Call me an eBay convert!!
(3) Still trying to edit my report... THink i got about 1500 words to go...
(4) Having Teochew Porridge with Kiam Chye (preserved vegetables) is jus BLISS!!!!
I am close to the end of my report finally.... but i mean close to finishing the writing of the report because i juz left the conclusion for section A and the executive summary to do. BUT then need to do a lot of cutting, do any corrections, then sort out the appendices, then print 2 copies of the report and the appendices, then need to bind them then need to hand in next week 31st January, 12 noon. I think I can sleep for one week after next Monday.
It's not really close to the end, to be honest. Because I dunno how i did it, but i somehow managed to write 9000 words for the 5000-word-limit section A, which means I have to cut 4000 words, or 16 pages. Yay me. I amaze myself.
Complicating Matters
"Level Two Students,
It is with regret that we are having to cancel the TLS module this
semester.
This is due to the ill-health of the module convenor and the absence of
suitable cover at such short notice.
Please accept my apologies for the inconvenience that this will cause.
This will of course mean that students affected by this cancellation
will now have to select another module in its place. "
It was confusing for me in the 1st place, whether to do Travel Logistics Management or to do Consumer Behaviour. TLM is interesting cuz it's about Supply Chain Management of the transport, mainly airlines and its catering. Consumer Behaviour has really good lecturers. lecturers who give a lot of information and always give a lot of examples to make the lecture lively and interesting.
I did not really want to do TLS because my original aim was to do Hospitality Operations Analysis, which was to run a virtual restaurant and analysing data and making decisions and see how they affect the business. There are also 2 very interesting lecturers for this module. But I could not do this module because this is a 20 credit module which would exceed my 60 credits limit.
So now with the cancellation of TLS, I now have 20 credits which i need to fulfil. Should I take TLS and Consumer Behaviour, or should i do Hospitality Operations Management
Would my choice affect my CV, which modules would be useful for what i want to do in future? What do i want to do in future in the first place?
Decisions Decisions...
How come no one is updating blog wan???
You realise how sometimes we don't really hear much about Shangri-la in the papers? At least i don't, other than its own advertisements. Here's why...
"RIGHT, the gloves are off. We don't work here for our health, you know.
In fact, we're so fed up with having our time wasted by useless public relations types and their publicity puff that we've decided to feature the very worst examples. Think of it as therapy — it'll stop us nipping round to their trendy, leather-sofa-and-Starbucks-filled Soho offices and committing a terrible indictable offence.
First entrant into our new league of shame comes from Shangri-La Hotels, whose PR machine single-handedly manages to annoy everyone working at Travel Weekly Towers by sending its press releases to all of us at least four times a week.
Apparently, guests at its Singapore property will now be able to choose the scent of their bed linen — from stimulating and sensual sandalwood to rejuvenating green tea, relaxing lavender or invigorating eucalyptus (good for sinusitis). And why? It will "enhance one's well-being and maintain one's natural balance", of course.
Shangri-La even goes as far as saying it evokes a familiar, homely welcome. Obviously nonsense, since most Brits would be more familiar with the smell of chips and gravy.
PRs, you've been warned."

Talk about negative publicity
My first 1st of 2005
- First baby shower to attend!!! My friend is due on the 1st Mar, juz 3 days after my sister, and we are organising a baby shower for her on 2nd February. It is going to be a fantastic night. Yay!
Airbus 380: The Reveal
I can't wait to take this plane!!! The delivery of the 1st aircraft to Singapore Airlines would probably take place around middle of 2006, and is set to ply the SIN-SYD and SIN-LHR routes. The implications: I might just be able to catch the plane back home after i graduate!!! YAY!! *cross my fingers and hope delivery would not be delayed*
And you would think that for
such a big party, such a big unveiling, SIA would send their best stewardess, the most beautiful, the most elegant... Look at who they sent?
You would think that SIA has MUCH better stewardesses than this.
AND I WON THE BID!!!!
Sure enough, the bid price was nearly 13 times the starting bid.... but considering that the starting bid was £0.99, I guess you can say for £12, my
flat suede brown boots are quite worth it. I juz now have to pay for my boots and wait for my shoes.
Happy right now, as long as the boots fit perfectly!
Juz finish helping Helen move her things to her removal truck... It seems so final. In a sense, it is final. The year has finished, it's time to stop playing pretend and go back to my (current) full time job, and that is to be a student... Come tomorrow, I would be doing the same as what Helen did today. I don't want to go, I love living in London, but time, sadly, is not something we can turn back or hold still.
Might seem like an appropriate time to evaluate my entire year in London:
Did
- Had fun
- Learnt so much in dealing with people, work, service, skills
- Lived in London like a true Londoner
- Spent more time with my boyfriend
- Made a few very valuable friendships
- Spent my 1st birthday away from home, though not away from family, since Mummy flew over
- Experienced the power of spending the money I make!
- Attended my first wedding (not my, as in my, but my friend's, but u know what I mean)
- Experienced my first losses, however distant (Enhuai, the NS man in the dunking case, is an acquaintance, and Ms Caroline Chan, who is part of the group of 6 ladies missing in Khao Lak Beach in Phuket, she is a regular guest at my hotel). Where ever you are, RIP.
- Experienced my first material loss (Lost my digital camera, on the plane back from Hamburg)
- Experienced the best ever service on an SIA flight - SQ318 21st October 2004 (sorry, I just have to put this in, considering i am such an airplane freak)
Did Not
- Catch any theatre/musical/performance in LONDON!!!! Can you believe it?
- Go to Borough Market
- Go to Camden Market
- I can't think of anymore
Anyway, what's the point of thinking of the "Did not"? It's the "Did"s that are important, that enriched my life, and as for the "did not"s, what you don't know doesn't kill.

JETBLUE AIRWAYS which limits passenger meals mostly to blue potato chips, used its no-meals policy in a recent marketing campaign. The airline gave away T-shirts with the words "It was never meant to fly" over a picture of a chicken.
Singapore Airlines is the second largest buyer of Dom Perignon champagne in the world.
Cathay Pacific aircraft are equipped with toasters, cappuccino makers, rice cookers and skillets - to make freshly scrambled eggs.
A business-class meal with wine costs an airline about $50 in raw materials
Featured on an American Airlines packet of peanuts:
"Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts."

The Importance of Having a Unique Surname (and Name)
It is still the Chinese that are unique... We come up with the most unique names in the world... and usually you dun get many hits with the exact same name. Take my name for instance:
I googled "Kng Suan" and Goh. Only 1 matching hit for Sing Soc (my blog is not listed)... See? You get what you want straight away... (Also shows that I have a very small existence on the net)
Another example. "Kenechukwu Umeasiegbu" (Yes, I know someone with this name). Juz googling the last name only brings out 119 entries. See what i mean now?
Oh my god. I am that bo liao... I can't believe I juz written this online.
My favourite toys right now? Thermometer, Evian bottle 1.5L, and Paracetamol.
3rd consecutive day of shit-ness. Fuck.
Whoever u are, dun call me... cuz u dun want to hear my voice, and i dun want to talk... my throat hurts like hell.... and i can't talk without sounding like I am going to lose my voice.
I feel like shit now... First major bout of illness in UK.... Fever yesterday night 37.8C. Practically lost my voice. Throat hurts like hell. Argh.
My throat hurts like hell. Feel like it's dying...
Btw, I am so desperate for my shoes that I have actually gone on eBay to look for them. Would you believe it?
