I saw the Thai Airways Plane in the new livery!!! So cool!!!!

Yes, it's juz me. I need to go in now.

Juz dropping a note to say hi... Inside Terminal One now... waiting to board my plane... Been walking around the whole of terminal one and two for the past 2 hours. The flight is going to be full, cuz of all the people swarming the check in counter... At least I got my window seat. :) am happy with that. It's all I need.

I just had DECAF skinny latte and I am high. I dunno how. I think with the combination of airport and aeroplane, even decaf coffee can get me high.

The 15 minute free internet access is running out! See you guys in a week! I have a good feeling it is going to be a good trip! :)

1. Language Arts
2. Mother Tongue / Higher Mother Tongue
3. Mathematics
4. Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry)
5. Biological Sciences (Life Sciences and Biology)
6. Geography
7. History
8. Social Studies
9. Philosophy
10. Life Skills
11. Aesthetics
12. Individualised Study Options

These are the teaching subjects for MGS's Sophia Blackmore class, or the gifted class in MGS... I was quite amazed, in that if u don't know better, you might even think that they are being taught new subjects. Let me enlighten you.
-Philosophy: Fair enough, we didn't have to do that
-Life Skills: Ah, this is somewhat special. It is actually Home Economics and Computer Studies. I wished there was Design and Technology though. Would have been quite cool to learn a bit of DnT, see what it actually is.
-Aesthetics: Ah, another cheem name for something we've all learnt. This actually just means Visual Art, Music and Dance.
-Individualised Study Options: (Quoted from the MGS website) It aims to develop pupils in research and inquiry skills, and oral and presentation skills. It also allows pupils to pursue a topic of their own interest, and to acquire new knowledge through Problem-Based Learning.

Why must they make something simple sound so cheem????

Hwei Shan calls it the crying muffin. I think it is a wonderfully beautiful blueberry muffin. Juz felt like doing muffins yesterday night so went ahead and did this. The blueberries had burst in the heat in the oven, hence creating the "crying" effect. Pretty, yeah??

Haven't Updated in a while, cuz nothing much to update actually, or when I intend to update, I actually don't have time to update, hence the lull.

Saturday was the Pre-Departure briefing/fair for UK-bound students. And it seems like this year we have a total of ZERO students coming to Surrey. Very sad, but also kind of expected, since the sg universities have kind of relaxed the requirements for Poly grads. But it was kind of fun, cuz managed to meet up with old friends and also meet new friends. :) Then met up with Hwei Shan at Bras Basah for her to stock up on stationery. Turned out that there was a 20% off storewide at Popular and I even managed to get 3 books for only $15!!!! These books were released less than a year ago and somemore in trade paperback (the large paperback version). How cool is that?? Then went to the new Central Library at Victoria Street on Saturday. Very Very crowded. Which is kind of a pity, cuz it's difficult to really appreciate the surroundings and its beauty when so many people are surrounding you, making noise, yada yada.

Yesterday went to crash Hwei Shan's lecture. Lecture was on Singapore Media and Ethics or something like that. Was intimidating and scary, cuz Hwei Shan did not warn me that this lecturer picks on students to ask for their opinions. Ended up spending the whole lecture avoiding eye contact and doodling on my foolscap paper. But the lecturer was good, engaging and funny. If he was teaching something I am interested in, i know that I would have walked out of the lecture theatre feeling accomplished and enriched. But, oh well.

Yesterday was MGS Founder's Day, and Tessa's birthday. Apparently I am the only one who remembered it. Happy Belated Birthday to Tessa!

(I don't normally complain. You know that, but the following post is a rant, about a bitch. Skip if u had enough of complaints, where ever)

I'm not sure what kind of background u have in restaurants. But whatever u have, it is damn lousy, I'll let u know. At 22 years old, I may not have as much experience as u do, but what i have, at least is honesty, u 2-faced bitch. I really do not need to face your shouting, your ordering, your rubbish, to sum it all up. Whoever that taught you what u know, obviously have left out the most important bit. That your attitude towards your subordinates reflects on YOU, and the company. And the RESPECT is EARNED, not given. Perhaps, u should stop sleeping around with your colleagues and start reflecting on yourself (And I mean this, or else u need to see the doctor for STD testing too).

You are probably the best negative example in a leadership course.

F*** off, you bitch.

Possibly Singapore's more expensive melon?? The melon is not even bigger than 15cm in diameter. So if i cut this melon into 10 slices, each slice could be $5, and each bite must be like $1??? And do u think u can actually taste the difference between this $50 melon and the $5 Melon u get from NTUC??

A wishlist may not be realistic. A realistic wishlist may not be affordable. Should i do a birthday wishlist??

I found the soundtrack for Overtime!!!! Yes!!!!! Overtime is this Japanese drama that I followed in JC1 and I cried buckets throughout the show cuz it was so touching... I literally cried buckets for the ending... Because it was so tragic... but now looking back, also because the ending was realistic, and it deprived me of my fairy tale ending...

Anyways, Granny's Birthday today... So everyone came round for an early dinner. There was:
- hainanese boiled white chicken (without the rice) x 2
- braised dark soy sauce duck
- fried yellow noodles
- fried "mee tai mak"
- pig stomach lining "zhu du" soup
- roast duck x 3 (cuz 2 different families both bought duck, IN ADDITION to the braised duck Mummy did)
- 3 different types of crystal buns
- siew mai x 2 cake boxes (40? 50?)
- fried fish with orange sauce x 2
- pheonix eggs (some random thing that one uncle bought that up till now, i have no idea what is inside).
Dessert was shou tao (lotus buns), enough to feed 4 3-generation families and a chocolate champagne cake. That is a lot of food. I think barely half was finished, and as with all other years, was packed for breakfast/lunch/dinner for the next few days for the relatives. The cake was good though. Bought from Cake History. I recommend it. Very nice!

It was really weird for me... Cuz I have not met most of these relatives for nearly 2 years since i was not around for Granny's bday last year. First of all, they all started mistooking me for my 2nd sister (who had to attend a school-related function). It's like, juz because I was aboard, it was as though i cease to exist anymore. Had to correct so many people that "wo shi zui xiao de, bu shi lao er". Then there were 3 babies and a 5-year old boy. Where did these kids come from???? There was our dear Matthew, 1-year-old Charlene (cousin Kelvin's daughter), 3-month-old Tricia, together with her 5-year-old brother Travis (________'s (I forgot his name) kids)

Come 2-3 years' time, my house would become a playground with all the kids screaming and shouting and running. I *can't* wait.

Really, only the Japanese could have possibly come up with something like this... Saw this in Daiso. Now, you can actually buy 2 left hand gloves or 2 right hand gloves. I wonder how well does this sell?? I told my Mummy, and she told me that she would buy the two right hand ones, cuz she only wear gloves on one hand when washing plates. And of course, if u do wanna get a pair of both left and right hand, they do sell it too.

Having lived in London for one year... even back here in Singapore 6761 miles away, it juz seems so real. I juz feel very very emotional right now. The bus explosion happened at a very familiar location for me, along a street which I have walked so many times, and next to a park where i spent many idle afternoons.

Come September when I return to UK, London will not be the same.

To all of you who are reading my blog, where ever you are, hope you, your friends and family are well and safe.

Praying for Safety for Everyone,
KS

Being the loving aunt to my lovely and adorable nephew, Matthew, I must of course plug his own website that is now up!!! Yes, Matthew now has his own website, largely maintained by his manageress-cum-mummy, Sandy, and ocassionally by the big star, Matthew, himself with some lovely photos of his current activities and outdoor appearances. Experience a day in the life of Matthew, from his Mummy's point of view!

Please visit the site and show your support for the star in making!!! Personal appearances will be up soon!!!

Went to send our dearly beloved Yanru off yesterday for her new life as a high flying investment analyst with JP Morgan in the Big O'Apple that is New York... As with the usual plane-and-airport-crazy girl persona, I was of course all excited, because it is the airport!!!

Had Sushi at Sakae at the airport... but I swear it is not because i am all-things-airport-crazy, but the service at the Sakae is much better than the service at the other outlets downtown. I was greeted by name when I left, which is one of the very rare times i've encountered that in a restaurant, so that is quite cool... even though Rena and Becki thinks I am juz crazy. I felt as though all the outlets in the airport are like all glamed out, I supposed it is the airport, that's why. For example, the Sakae in the airport also has a teppanyaki bar and a private dining room for 8 with karaoke, and a golden cloth bound menu, as opposed to the plasticky ones in town, but at the same price. This is what i call value-for-money, though the ride to the airport pretty much defeats whatever value i get for travelling down to the airport juz for a meal.

Yanru is a go-getter from the first day i met her... A debater at heart, she is one of the girls that the SS gang really hated simply because she is so eloquent, well-read and well-spoken, and I suppose to a certain extent, the guys probably felt threatened by her intelligence. To be honest, there were times I was also slightly intimidated by her, but there is juz so much to hear and learn from her, sometimes, it's nice juz to listen to her talk and debate (usually with Corinne). The conversations we have had over the past 5 years as a group are yet engaging, yet relaxing, yet stimulating. It must be different, cuz I dun think I have talked to other people in the same way I have talked to them, a sentiment felt equally like Yanru, Corinne, Rena and Becki. It's a pity that Su Phine is working, and Corinne is busy with her pupillege applications, so they were unable to come and send her off... But I'm sure we'll meet again soon, next year perhaps. :)

Hello... sorry for the short absence.... been away in Perth for the beginning of the week, followed by computer retard-ness for the next two days, which means i have not been able to do much online till now.

Perth... Hmm.. It's not small, like Guildford, UK (There is also a Guildford in WA, Australia), but it has a quaint little old town atmosphere... loads of Art Deco buildings there... really pretty, even though many of the buildings juz had their facades maintained... Spent quite a bit of time shopping actually, but amazingly i did not get much, did not even get any clothes for myself!! Which must be a first!!! I actually came back with more AUD$ than i left with. We cooked both breakfast and dinner as the apartment we were staying in had a fully furnished kitchen... so saved a lot of money on eating out... i think pictures best describe everything... but pictures are not with me right now... Will show once i get them!!!

Been fiddling around my blog... changing pictures, fiddling with the layout... hopefully getting a new layout soon... ;) Stay Tuned...

Edited to add: This post was written on Friday night, but was saved as a draft instead, hence a delayed appearance on my blog.
