My flight back to Singapore was delayed for 4 hours because of "aircraft reallocation" problems (according to the airline), but i think it is juz a whole lot of rubbish, because that particular plane that took us back was already at the gate for ages, waiting. What kind of reallocation can there be?? And though Shanghai airport is new and pretty, it does get boring after you have spent about 6 hours in the airport. I dun think I can ever get bored with 6 hours to kill in Changi, but that's just me.

Let's talk about my trip!!!! First of all, if at all possible, dun go to China in July and August. Cuz the weather kills, and I mean literally, because the weather is so damn freaking humid, you sweat buckets and it is unbelievably uncomfortable.

But other than that, it is amazing to see how much Suzhou, Hangzhou and Shanghai has grown. Gone are the shared toilets with a hole in a ground, there are now toilet bowls! And some of the toilets are even air-conditioned!

My favourite city still has to be Shanghai, juz because it is so like Singapore! My favourite place was Xiangyang Street Market, where you can disappear into not to come out again!!! Haggling is a must in this place!!! I managed to bargain from RMB120 to RMB30 for my bag!!!! It is a *fake* Nike bag, but the imitation is quite real too... Most of the goods in this place are fake of factory rejects and imitations, but really, u can't really tell the difference. :) Wai Tan (The Bund) gives you the best of the old and new of Shanghai, with the old colonial buildings at Puxi and the new skyscrapers in PuDong. I really really don't mind coming here to work someday. It's so Singapore. Even the tube station and gantries are Singapore-styled too! There's also Nanjing Pedestrian Street, Renmin Square, XinTianDi, etc etc etc, too much to say lah!!! You have to see it to believe it!!!

I like this area so much. Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Shanghai. You'll see me back here in 5-10 years' time.
