Something in one of the school forums that we are supposed to participate in... the discussion right now is pretty funny...
Some Food for Thought...If a leader is to have a highly motivated, high performing team, all team members must be totally committed to the leader's vision, not merely involved in it - and there is a difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment'.
As one anonymous wag once put it:
"The difference between 'involvement' and 'commitment' is like a bacon and egg breakfast: the chicken was 'involved', but the pig was 'committed'!"
The reply from one of my colleagues...
The pig was indeed seemingly commited to the breakfast and the chicken only involved, but it should be noted this is the most appropriate level of involvement for both. If the commitment and involvement were the other way around you could end up with a cooked breast of chicken topped with something most unsavoury from the pig.
