Hmm... Was reading the court proceedings of Nguyen Tuong Van's case... He's the guy who tried to smuggle 400g of heroine throught Singapore.

If you read his statement, it's quite sad... but then again, I still believe he deserves the death sentence because he broke the law. Yes, it seems like he had no choice, but he did break the law. Period.

WITH regard to Singapore's decision to hang an Australian citizen because he was carrying drugs, please consider for a moment the following questions:

Question 1: Who suffers after Dec 2 until the day that they die?
Answer: His mother, other members of his family and his friends, not the young man himself.
Question 2: Who else is seriously offended by Singapore's actions?
Answer: Every citizen of Australia.
Question 3: How do you think Singapore and its culture are regarded by the civilised world?
Answer: I will let you ponder that one yourself.

What's wrong with these people?? Seriously, just as every house has its own rules, every country has its own laws. It's black and white, no grey area. It is written clearly on EVERY single arrival immigration card that Drug Trafficking in Singapore carries the DEATH sentence. It is written loud and clear. The offender has obviously chose to ignore it. Well, ignore at your own peril, as the saying goes. You have to pay for not abiding by the laws of the land on which you stand... It's simple as that. Loud and clear. Now which part of this don't you understand??

Oh, by the way, I do know citizens of Australia who actually feel that Singapore has the right in punishing someone who have broken the laws in Singapore, whether foreign citizen or not.

I am SO looking forward to the holidays!!!!!! Got the first week pretty much planned out nicely!!!! :) Yay.....

I must love Sunday Times. It've been about 2 1/2 hours since I have reached home, and I just finished reading Sunday Times... especially Sunday Life. Went through every single article online... Come to think of it, I don't even spend so much time reading Life! back in Singapore... Anyway, interesting headlines for today...

Harry Potter!!! Went to watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire juz now... for someone that has not read the Harry Potter series, ie. me, i thought it was better than the 3rd Harry Potter movie!!! Love the story line of this one, though many have said that there were quite a lot of parts missing in the story...

Had a good night out today... great conversation, great insights, great food, great friends... What more could you ask for???

Hmm... if only I didn't have to come back to finish my work... that would have been great... :)

Oh well, one can dream, yeah??

(4) had loads of fun doing my discussion.
(5) I got an email from Miranda today!
(6) 4 years since we talked!!!
(7) And she's returning to Singapore!!
(8) But I am not around *sulk*
(9) But she got in touch!!
(10) She's the 2nd person in 3 days that I've lost and found contact with
(11) I've got that "aww" feeling now
(12) Cuz someone thought of me!!!
(13) Got 2 big things off my back for a bit
(14) Felt like I accomplished some work, even though it was not a lot...

1. Getting good grades for any assessment!! (Yes, I am very results-oriented)
2. Not having to set the alarm for the following day, meaning that I am free, and have no deadlines (especially school work related) to meet that day
3. Going travelling, because I can relax!
4. Boarding an SIA plane, and seeing the oh-so-familiar SIA cabin (though I must say that I am looking forward to the new SQ cabins next year) (Only no. 4 in recall level?!)
5. Having a good cup of coffee, and being able to just sit down relax and chill, and watch the world go by... having friends around are a bonus
6. Knowing that an action of mine have benefitted someone else, physically or emotionally
7. Knowing that someone else have done the same for me
8. A good dim sum lunch, washed down with good Pu'er tea
9. Coming out of a lecture theatre AND feeling highly enriched by the knowledge imparted on us

10. Retail Therapy, of any form!! ;)

Manchester United is brilliant. First, they ended Arsenal's 40-something-match unbeaten run last season. This season they did it again. This time they ended Chelsea's 40-match unbeaten run. :)

I just webcamed with my sis. For the first time. Yes, I am very technically-backwards at times. And I saw Matthew! And he now crawls! And very fast too!! And Mummy baked a marble cake today. And I watched them have breakfast. with coffee, and cheese on toast with flaxseed.
